People ANGRY Over Plus-Size Activewear
/Nike has recently launched a new plus-size line of activewear. The workout clothes come in sizes 1X-3X and include larger bra sizes too. This is great news for any Nike fans who couldn't wear their clothes previously and it points to an overall issue of limited activewear options for larger individuals, but some people aren't happy about the new line. Several internet commenters responded to the new line with complaints that the clothes promote obesity and unhealthy lifestyles. Sigh. There are so many problems with this line of thinking and, as a dietitian, I have some thoughts.
